There are six possible causes.
1. Sound skipping can be reduced by adjusting the buffer size.
-Windows
When using Serato DJ, click the [LAUNCH DRIVER PANEL] button of USB BUFFERSIZE(LATENCY) from [SETUP] > [AUDIO] and adjust the BUFFER SIZE on the [ASIO] tab of the Settings Utility. When using DJ software other than Serato DJ and an ASIO driver, adjust the buffer size at the [ASIO] tab of the Settings Utility. When using Direct Sound, adjust the buffer size from the DJ software.
-Mac OS
When using Serato DJ, adjust USB BUFFERSIZE(LATENCY) at [SETUP] > [AUDIO]. When using DJ software other than Serato DJ, adjust the buffer size from the DJ software.
2. When using a notebook computer, the computer's performance may be intentionally reduced through the power-saving functions. Use the computer not on the battery but with the AC adapter and cancel all power-saving settings. Also cancel the screensaver function.
3. With Windows Vista or Windows 7, if the Windows Aero setting is enabled, disable it.
4. Sound skipping sometimes happens if the CPU usage rate is high. Check the recommended usage environment for your applications.
5. Sound skipping may be caused by the influence of devices inside the computer or connected externally. If so, disable any devices not being used.
6. Other applications being used simultaneously (including resident programs) could also affect performance. If so, quit the other applications.
